Located in the heart of a beautiful town, this hotel was just what we needed for our Christmas break. The rooms were spacious and very clean, offering all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. We particularly loved the buffet breakfast, which offered a great variety of options to suit every taste. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home during our stay.
We were disappointed that there was no parking available on site and we had to find a public parking area. the noise from the busy street could be heard even with the windows closed.

Location good. Very quiet even though in central town square next to church. Bells do not ring during the night. Good restaurants and bars nearby. Watch timings - the Dutch eat supper early!
We arrived at 10pm. No food available, not even a sandwich! Not prepared to help "kitchen closed." Restaurants in Schagen centre had stopped serving so ended up driving to a Macdonalds.

Central location, close to shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel has covered bicycle parking and is great for cycling into town. Breakfast has a variety of options and is buffet style.
The room is in need of refurbishment and the shower was not working correctly. , the noise from the construction outside the window was disturbing and woke me up early every morning.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel in the heart of the city. The location was perfect, right in the centre of town and close to everything. The hotel facilities were top-notch, with a cozy bar and a locked garden area for covered bicycle parking. The hotel itself was designed in the style of the original Schagen castle, and it was fascinating to see the two remaining towers. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable, and the staff were very attentive and accommodating. The breakfast was good, although I would have preferred to see more vegetables like tomatoes. However, the fact that they baked their own bread was super cool, and it was even more interesting that you could fry your own eggs if you wanted to.
Nothing could have been better.

Really good located, excellent for travelling with children. Friendly hotel staff. Clean, very quiet - surprisingly quiet despite it's location at Grote Markt. We also did like breakfast buffet.
there was no bath - only shower

Second visit. Cosy, friendly, perfect location. Would stay again.
Lumpy pillows and no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were excellent, especially the young barman who was friendly and accommodating. The indoor design of this place was amazing, giving a unique and Dutch feel to the atmosphere. The hotel bar was cozy and provided a great place to unwind. The room I stayed in was spacious and had a lovely view of the castle. I appreciated the small fridge and table by the large windows, perfect for enjoying light meals. The location of this hotel in the city center was incredibly convenient, with everything within walking distance.
I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was more than adequate. Rooms were big and clean. No problem with towels, kettle, tea coffee etc.
There was no lift. My husband is older and the stairs were difficult for him. The bar was very small and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights there was no room for us to sit and have a drink. We had to go elsewhere.

I had a wonderful stay at a hotel located right on the central town square. The highlight was being upgraded to a room in the Castle, which preserved the original Schagen castle style with its two remaining towers. The room was comfortable and well-stocked with amenities such as a hairdryer and TV. The breakfast was good, with a unique feature of frying your own eggs if desired. The hotel bar had a cozy ambiance, perfect for relaxing after a long day.
